One of the most beautiful monoliths in the world is located in Antioquia, in Guatape. The area is surrounded by a number of handicraft businesses where you can buy souvenirs made by local artisans, The transport is permanent and you can use the famous motochivas, miniature version of the chivas paisas in the best style of the municipality of Guatapé.

Guatape

Guatapé is an Andean resort town in northwest Colombia, east of Medellín. It’s known for its houses decorated with colorful bas-reliefs. It sits by the vast, man-made Peñol-Guatapé Reservoir, a busy water-sports center. Piedra del Peñol, a giant granite rock southwest of town, has hundreds of steps to the top, where there are sweeping views

Medellin 

Medellín is the capital of Colombia’s mountainous Antioquia province. Nicknamed the “City of Eternal Spring” for its temperate weather, it hosts a famous annual Flower Festival. Modern metrocables link the city to surrounding barrios and offer views of the Aburrá Valley below. Sculptures by Fernando Botero decorate downtown’s Botero Plaza, while the Museo de Antioquia displays more of the Colombian artist’s work.

El retiro

This municipality is located 32 kms from the Antioquia capital, Medellín. Its average temperature is approximately 16 ºC.
For those who want more tourism of nature and lush landscapes, they can visit the El Tequendamita jump, take a walk through the entire linear park, better known as the Love Park or appreciate the magnitude of the La Fe reservoir from the Los Salados park.
